What is Trauma-Informed Self-Defense
Trauma-informed self-defense is an approach to self-defense that takes into consideration the potential impact of trauma on individuals and seeks to create a safe and supportive environment for learning and practicing self-defense techniques.
This approach recognizes that individuals may have experienced various forms of trauma, such as physical or emotional abuse, and aims to empower them while respecting their unique needs and triggers. By integrating these principles, trauma-informed self-defense seeks to provide individuals with the tools they need to protect themselves while fostering a sense of empowerment, respect, and safety.
This approach is often used in a variety of settings, including self-defense classes, workshops, or support groups.
Empowerment Self-Defense Program and Courses
Empowerment self-defense refers to a set of strategies, skills, and techniques designed to empower individuals, especially marginalized groups such as women, to protect themselves physically, emotionally, and mentally.
The primary goal is to enhance personal safety and promote self-confidence. Empowerment self-defense programs are often proactive and focus on preventing violence whenever possible. They acknowledge the importance of addressing the root causes of violence and aim to create a culture of safety and respect.
These programs can take various forms, including workshops, courses, and ongoing training sessions, and they are often tailored to the specific needs and concerns of the participants.
A.L.E.R.T (Awareness-Based Life-Saving Empowerment Resilience Training) Program
The A.L.E.R.T. Workshop is an intensive, one-day program designed to empower individuals, teams, and families with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to navigate the complexities of modern life safely and resiliently. This workshop is a comprehensive blend of theory and practice, offering participants a unique opportunity to learn about and engage in techniques for enhancing personal safety, stress management, and emotional resilience.
